The Gunrunning update for Grand Theft Auto 5 came out earlier this week. Here is a quick guide on how to get yourself through the first mission.
The first mission of gunrunning tasks you and your team to intercept and takedown the Maryweather air supply lines in Blain County. What is really cool is that the team is issued with weaponised dune buggies in order to take on this mission. These dune buggies are kitted out with passenger mounted mini guns, this means one person drives whilst the other uses the mini gun in order to take out the supply lines. As Maryweather have blocked off all available roads these dune buggies come in dead handy.
Once you take to the road your task is to take down a Cargobob helicopter (think Chinook) which is carrying some heavy cargo. The great news here is that the chopper is flying relatively close to the ground so aiming the mini gun isn’t too much of a challenge. Just make sure that whoever is driving keeps to a straight path in order for the passenger to get a good aim on the chopper. It doesn’t take too long for the chopper to start retaliating as there will be enemies throwing explosives from the copper’s rear. Keep your aim steady and you should be able to take out the grenade throwers in no time. Once the Cargobob has enough holes in it, it will explode and you will be sent a location of the next chopper.
Much like the last Cargobob this one will be conveniently flying low in order for the gunman to get a good aim on it. However, this time around the chopper will be accompanied by air support. Make sure you focus your fire on the air support helicopter first. The driver also needs to keep in mind that, like last time, the enemy will be throwing grenades from the Cargobob as well. Keeping these tips in mind should bring down the supply chopper in no time at all.
Your next task is to get to the airstrip where a Maryweather Titan (cargo plane) is preparing for take off. When you reach the airstrip the plane will be taking off. Much like the Cargobobs, keep firing at the plane and make sure you take out the enemies shooting at you from the plane’s cargo hold. We also suggest aiming at the plane’s wing mounted engines in order to take it down quicker. You will now be sent the location of another Maryweather Titan.
The second plane will have two air support choppers accompanying it. Make sure you take down the choppers as fast as possible and then focus on the plane’s engines. This should then take the plane out in good time.
Next up is another Cargobob with air support, as with the previous choppers, concentrate your fire on the cargo hold at the back in order to take the enemies with grenades out. The flight path of this chopper goes over some quite rough terrain so make sure whoever is driving can handle the off road terrain.
Lastly, all you need to do is drive the dune buggy back to the drop off point, be careful as Maryweather goons will be after you in their own vehicles, so make full use of the dune buggy’s mini gun to clear your path.
