So, I picked up the Gold Edition of Assassin's Creed Origins and I didn't think to put the game down once I started. I had already seen a few gameplay clips online, but experiencing it for myself is definitely what made me beg for more. New location, new time zone, new systems, new characters, new story, same premise. The ideas behind this overhaul of the Assassin's Creed Franchise have definitely made the game steal the spotlight and have most definitely made it one of the best the franchise has released. Voice acting is superb, showing extreme emotion and conflict in Bayek and Aya's characters. The combat system is difficult to get used to initially, but pulling of combos and parries is undoubtedly satisfying. The sheer scope of Egypt truly encourages exploration; and climbing the Pyramids of Giza is especially rewarding when scanning the world from the peak. I would definitely recommend the Gold Edition to anyone looking for a return to the Assassin's world. 5/5 Stars!
Beautiful looking, great story, side quests that are actually interesting, lots to explore, fun to play and very open to do as you want. Only problems are a few times where I have had minor bugs, textures disappearing then reappearing, people no clipping through walls, and people randomly agro'ing.
Egypt has never looked better. This is the best Assassin's Creed game yet. I really takes what worked about the previous games in the series ( the parkour , stealth and exploration) and adds a number of RPG inspired mechanics to the mix. There are a number of cool mini-games as well. They include ship combat and ship exploration, chariot races and tomb dungeons that contain puzzles. The result is an engrossing , deep experience. The world is nothing short of amazing. There's lots of wide open spaces. There are deserts, rivers, lakes and big cities. Enemy AI has been much improved and the enemies are much more aware and aggressive this time around. It is a great game.
