It might not be possible to go on holiday this year, but that doesn’t mean you can’t take a trip to an exciting locale, meet the residents, and have a great adventure vacation – all for free. That’s right, the Resident Evil Village Demo has given PC players a great chance to take a closer look at the eighth main game in the long-running series, letting you explore a slice of this terrifying location.
It’s not available for long, so if you’re planning on checking it out or you’ve missed the window, here’s everything you need to know about the Resident Evil Village Demo on PC.
What is the Resident Evil Village Demo?
Demos are back, baby. Long-disappeared from the gaming scene, it’s great to see demos making a return, giving players a chance to try before they buy – and it’s something we’re wholeheartedly behind.
The Resident Evil Village Demo is available for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X+S, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Stadia. It gives players a 60-minute look around some key locations from the game, and helps undecided players make up their mind about the game, and helps whet the appetite for some grotesque survival horror.
How to get the Resident Evil Village Demo on PC
If you’re playing on PC then you’ll be able to snag the demo, for free, on Steam. You can also head over to Capcom’s website to get more info about it and its availability on other platforms.
Originally only planned for 24 hours, Capcom have since decided to extend the playable period. You can play the PC Resident Evil Village Demo between 30th April 2021 0:00 AM (UTC) to 10th May 2021 0:00 AM (UTC). So, for example, if you’re in the UK, you’ll have until 01:00 BST on the 10th of May to be able to play.
Whilst playing you will be restricted to 60 minutes of play. You can restart or continue as many times as you like within those sixty minutes, but once that ticking clock is up, it’s over.
What’s In the Resident Evil Village Demo?
The Resident Evil Village Demo offers PC players a section of the game covering both the titular village and the castle area. You’ll explore a graveyard, a shrine, a mysterious church, surrounding fields, before finally heading to the castle to end your brief adventure.
You’ll also get the chance to experience the gameplay, it’s not just a quick sightseeing tour. Both the handgun and if you’re thorough about exploring, the shotgun are available for players to use to fight off some deadly Lycan threats.
Players won’t be alone when exploring the demo. You’ll meet characters such as Elena, her father Leonard, Julian, Luiza, and even get glimpses of the dangerous leader of the village’s cult, Mother Miranda. Ethan will need all the allies he can get on his journey through the village, but many people you meet will have hidden, devious motives.
Now you should be ready to dive into the dark world of the Resident Evil Village Demo, or if you’ve missed the release window, you can always pick up the full game and start experiencing the horror for yourself.
