God of War dominates 2019 DICE Awards

God of War was the big winner at February 13’s 2019 DICE Awards, scooping no fewer than nine awards.

Among the awards collected by Kratos’s latest outing was Game of the Year. God of War also won awards for game design, game direction, best character, best story, music, art direction, adventure game and more. In a good night for PlayStation 4 exclusives, Insomniac’s Marvel’s Spider-Man also won a DICE Award for Outstanding Achievement in Animation.

Head of Halo developer 343 Industries and Microsoft corporate VP Bonnie Ross was inducted at the awards into the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences’ Hall of Fame. Other winners included indie hit Celeste – the only game apart from God of War to win more than one award – and Fortnite, which won the award for Outstanding Achievement in Online Gameplay.
