It’s been rumoured and teased for a while now, but the latest Ghost Recon: Breakpoint has now been leaked thanks to a listing on… *checks notes* Ubisoft’s own online store?
A strange series of events indeed. After hyping the game up with an official livestream (scheduled for this evening at 7:30 PM) the ball has dropped early thanks to a listing for a collector’s edition of the game which appeared on the German Ubisoft store.
The Ubisoft Store exclusive “Wolves” edition shows a masked character with a cape and some modern weaponry. The game looks to be a sequel to 2017’s Wildlands, titled Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Breakpoint. It’s thought that we’ll see some gameplay this evening during the livestream that should shed more light on how this sequel is shaping up. Reddit leaks that surfaced earlier this week point to Cole D. Walker being the main villain of the game (played by the lovely Jon Bernthal.)
Walker was introduced in the latest free DLC Operation Oracle and apparently boasts an army of weaponized drones. I guess we’ll see later on this evening during the livestream if any of that rings true.
With rumours of Watch Dogs 3 and Assassin’s Creed Ragnarok swirling, it looks like 2019 is going to be a big year for Ubisoft. E3 will likely be where it all kicks off, with the company conference scheduled for June 10. We’ll be sure to report any further news as and when it becomes available.
