Quantic Dream is poised to make a PC demo version of Heavy Rain available for free on the Epic Games Store.
The French developer announced: “Quantic Dream’s critically acclaimed psychological thriller Heavy Rain will be available tomorrow (24th May) at 16:00 BST for PC, exclusively on the Epic Games Store. Previous fans of the interactive drama will be able to experience the tension-filled storyline for the first time on PC, with impressive 4K graphics and a 60 FPS frame rate. Fans unfamiliar with the game will get to experience a game that was heralded by many as a groundbreaking achievement in gaming.”
Quantic Dream also set out what to expect from the PC demo version of the 2010 (then PlayStation 3-exclusive) game: “The demo will take around 45 minutes to complete and will follow the same format as the one initially launched for the PlayStation 3 release, albeit updated for PC. The demo featurestwo full chaptersfrom the game in which players will immerse themselves in the roles of:
Norman Jayden: an FBI profiler brought in to help local law enforcement find and capture the Origami Killer; Scott Shelby: A private investigator hired by families of past victims to bring their killer to justice.”
Quantic Dream recently announced that as well as Heavy Rain, PC versions of its games Beyond: Two Souls and Detroit: Become Human will also be made available exclusively on the Epic Games Store. All three can now be pre-ordered.
The full PC version of Heavy Rain will be released on June 24, priced at $19.99, followed by a demo PC version of Beyond: Two Souls on June 27; the full version of Beyond: Two Souls is scheduled for a July 22 release, with a Detroit: Become Human demo scheduled for: “Later this summer,” and the full game: “Launching for $39.99 later this fall.”
