Fortnite: Battle Royale passes 45 million downloads

Epic Games’ Fortnite: Battle Royale has raced past the 45-million download milestone.

The free-to-play  100-player PvP is about to celebrate hitting that milestone with a substantial Map Update, bringing new areas to discover, fresh biomes and a whole new city. You can get a taste of what it offers in the trailer below

And if stats are your thing, Epic Games has created another trailer detailing some of the staggering figures which have emerged from a game that is being played by tens of millions of people.

With PUBG passing the 30 million-download mark, despite not being free-to-play, it seems that Battle Royale games are where the action is right now. If you’re keen to find out what all the fuss is about, be aware that Fortnite: Battle Royale’s servers will temporarily be switched off for a few hours at midday GMT today (18 January), while the update is administered.
