With Sony among other publishers skipping E3 this year, industry heavyweights are flocking to fill the power vacuum, promising to bring massive surprises and next-gen updates to their hotly anticipated press conferences. In this article, we’re going to run through each conference and give you an idea of what to expect when E3 2019 happens next week from 11 – 13 June 2019.

EA Play
When: 8th June
Time: 9:15 PT, 17:15 BST
Though not appearing at the E3 Conference itself EA have chosen to stick with their own separate event around E3. Kicking off the day with a bang you can expect to see the promised gameplay footage for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. We can also expect to see updates for Apex Legends and Battlefield V with Fifa 20 and Madden NFL 20 on the sports side, getting some spotlight as well. The official schedule from EA indicates they’ll be ending the show with The Sims 4, which they recently had a free weekend for. Whether we’ll see some new DLC announced for this is anyone’s guess.

Microsoft
When: 9th June
Time: 13:00 PT, 21:00 BST
The blockbuster event of the show, Microsoft is planning to go all out with their briefing to make up for a lack of presence from their competitors. Phil Spencer recently revealed that there will be 14 exclusive first-party Xbox games at the show – we’ll most definitely see more of games like Halo Infinite and Gears of War 5 but also perhaps the rumored Fable 4 and From Software’s George R. R. Martin collaboration, Great Rune. CD Projekt Red will also be returning to the Microsoft conference after dropping the first trailer for Cyberpunk 2077 at the end of the show last year. CDPR has promised to bring the heat this year with a heap of new details for Cyberpunk and rumours of a whole other game to be announced as well.
Outside of that, get ready for news about new consoles and cloud services – Microsoft is pulling out all the stops this year to capitalize on Sony’s lack of presence at the E3 2019.

Bethesda
When: 9th June
Time: 17:30 PT, 01:30 BST +1
Whilst it has been confirmed by Todd Howard that we won’t see anything from Elder Scrolls 6 or Starfield at E3 2019, with the hype building for Doom: Eternal (and the fact it’s plastered on the Figueroa hotel) no doubt we’ll be seeing more gameplay, as well as the rest of its upcoming slate like Wolfenstein: Youngblood. As far as surprises go, we’d guess that a new Dishonored or Prey game might be on the cards from Arkane, or even something totally different – perhaps Fallout will be given to another developer who knows.

Devolver Digital
When: 9th June
Time: 19:00 PT, 03:00 BST +1
If you’ve ever seen a Devolver Digital press conference you’ll know why this is the highlight of the show for many. Bringing their very unique style to the event, it’s really hard to pin down what could happen. It’s not like any other publishers, to say the least.

PC Gaming Show
When: 10th June
Time: 10:00 PT, 18:00 BST
In it’s fifth consecutive year, the PC gaming show brings a wonderfully collaborative affair to E3 with PC game and hardware news, bringing both big-name franchises and some smaller independent studios to the spotlight.
This year sponsored by Epic Games we can expect to find out a lot more about their future plans for the Epic Store as well as some exclusive announcements. Also penned for stage time is Frontier Developments (Elite Dangerous), Paradox Interactive hopefully bringing our first proper look at Vampire: the Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, Chucklefish (Stardew Valley) Digital Extremes (Warframe) and Funcom (Conan Unconquered)
Ubisoft
When: 10th June
Time: 13:00 PT, 21:00 BST
Well, we can make a few educated guesses about this one – some fairly credible leaks pip new IP Roller Champions and the Ubisoft Pass, as well as Watch Dogs 3 (recently leaked to be titled Watch Dogs Legion) which is apparently set in the UK. Outside of the above, keep your eyes peeled for a new Splinter Cell game announcement after all of the teasing, as well as more gameplay for Ghost Recon: Breakpoint and whatever’s next for service games like Siege and The Division 2.
Square Enix
When: 10th June
Time: 18:00 PT, 02:00 BST +1
We are definitely set to hear more about Marvel’s Avengers which has been in the shop for a while now – and the same can be said about Final Fantasy VII Remake, which will most likely receive some extra gameplay footage. As for surprises, this one is hard to pin down – the most likely event would be DLC for Kingdom Hearts 3 and a new game in the Just Cause franchise. You never know though – just because there is a focus on the remake of 7 doesn’t mean there can’t be a tease for a new next-gen entry!
Square Enix did also recently announce they will be publishing Dying Light 2 in the U.S. so expect to see some new details for that as well.
We can however expect to see details on franchises like Serious Sam as well as details for more content on games such as Ape Out or Katana Zero but for the most part you’ll just be amused by their “Adult Swim” approach.
Nintendo Direct
When: 11th June
Time: 09:00 PT, 17:00 BST
With Animal Crossing set for a 2019 release, this will likely be Nintendo’s main focus at E3 given that we don’t know anything about it just yet. Although with GameStop’s database recently listing more than 20 unannounced games ahead of E3 it’s anyone’s guess.
Announcing a separate Pokemon conference frees up space to talk about new games, with a remake of Link’s awakening and even a follow up for Breath of the Wild on the cards, or some Metroid Prime 4 gameplay footage. Maybe we’ll see more from Shin Megami Tensei V or Bayonetta 3. Rest assured though, no doubt this will be the place to reveal the next DLC character for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which if leaks are to be believed is either Erdrick from Dragon Quest or (tin foil hats at the ready) Banjo Kazooie.
