You will start with a single rifle, but you will be able to find weapons such as a grenade launcher, a flame thrower, a machine gun and plastic explosives.
There are also abilities for your suit, such as the double jump and the run ability.

-Shield and energy improvements:
You will find modules to extend your maximum amount of shield or your maximum amount energy for your weapons and abilities.

-Energy system:
Instead of an ammunition system, the game uses an energy bar system which decreases with every weapon or ability you use, but it recharges automatically over time.

-Energy cells and workshops:

You will find energy cells around the map or after defeating enemies. You can use those energy cells in workshops scattered all over the colony to upgrade some weapons or your energy generator, so your energy bar reloads faster.
You can also farm for energy cells by revisiting previous areas for as long as you wish.
There is no limit on the upgrade system, so you can end up with incredibly powerful weapons, so no matter how difficult the game gets for you, you can farm and upgrade your weapons to the point where you have no rival.

-Map:

You have a basic map of the colony which shows your location. You can use it to find secret areas in the colony.
-Non linear game style:
You can re-visit any area of the colony and use your new weapons and abilities to access rooms or areas you could not before, so you might find power ups or weapons.
Also, further on the game you can do several objectives in any order you like.

-Explosions:

Who doesn’t like explosions? There are LOTS of explosions!
A big part of the addictive playability is due to the fact that there is a very elaborate combo system with the explosions, chain reactions, friendly fire, etc.
It is really advised for the player to master the explosions dynamics early in the game to make use of them efficiently and improve the game experience.

Of Kings and Men’s De Re Militari Update Is Live

Green Man Gaming Publishing and Warlock Wireless have announced that the largest update for Of Kings And Men, the medieval combat game, is now available for all players. The De Re Militari update delivers new features that allow players to join clans and plan battles, then take to the battlefield in realistic first or third person combat.

Of Kings and Men has been in Early Access for just over 12 months, during which it has received a number of updates that have improved the base game, overhauled the progression systems, improved combat and introduced new maps and new modes for players to hone their skills in battle.

With the release of the De Re Militari update, the game introduces a strategic layer. Players gather with their clan mates to plan battles and conquer territories, with the goal of becoming the dominant kingdom. Siege castles, raid villages, and plan strategic partnerships with other clans to claim victory.

Other new features introduced since the game launched on Early Access includes a new lobby, stores to purchase new equipment for your character; Hold Your Ground, a cooperative mode that sees players fight against waves of enemies; and The Arena, a free for all battle over treasure chests filled with loot.

“The development team have worked incredibly hard over the past few months to deliver a much requested feature from the community. Interview with Ogre’s Producer Nina Adams

Ogre, a turn-based strategy PC game based on a very treasured tabletop game in the 1970’s, launched yesterday and we had a chance to speak to the game’s producer Nina Adams about making the game and the challenges of living up to its table top game legacy.

Your game is based off of a very treasured tabletop game, was it difficult to recreate the feeling of playing the original within a video game?

We were very aware that we had a big task ahead of us in recreating Ogre for PC. We really wanted to make sure it had the same look and feel as the board game and Steve Jackson wanted this to. It was a team effort as Steve (Steve Jackson, designer of the original tabletop game) had final say on all art assets which meant he caught anything we missed, right down to the scaling of the second batteries on the Ogre MK III. I think, with Steve’s help and confirmation from the Beta testers, we’ve achieved this goal.

Ogre’s most exciting feature is its asymmetry, the huge monster vehicle versus a whole army. Why do you think that’s such a draw for gamers?

Because it’s so rarely done, in fact I don’t personally know of any other board games that use that mechanic. It is very well balanced and gives the player so many more options and experiences, from choosing which side to be to the varieties of armies they can create.

Will long-time players of the tabletop find your game easy to come into; will there be much of a learning curve for them?

If they’re not used to digital games then there will be controls etc to get used to but we developed a comprehensive tutorial to follow so as long as they play through that first they’ll be fine.

You’ve worked with Steve Jackson games on this, how much input did they have into the game and how was it to work with them?

We got to work really closely with them and specifically Steve himself had final say on pretty much everything in the game. It has been a great experience and I found that we worked really well together. There was a mutual respect for Steve’s knowledge of board games, the fans and of course Ogre, and our knowledge of the digital realm, specifically turning physical into digital.

If a strategy fan has never heard of Ogre, how would you explain it to them and why should they give it a go?

Ogre is an award-winning board game which has been played and loved by thousands of fans for over 40 years. It is the ultimate turn-based strategy game, pitting man against machine. Over the years it has been expanded to include new units, terrain tiles and rules, all of which are available in the digital version. Any strategy game fan will love the unique mechanics and complex tactics.

Finally, Battle Chasers are back! – Dave24

Joe Madureira is finally back! After dropping Battle Chasers after 10 issues (if you count #0), to venture into the big world of Marvel and be creative director on the Darksider games, he’s back to the franchise after a 16 year hiatus. Nightwar is more or less a follow-up to what comic books had, but you are not required to know about them in any way, shape or form, because the game introduces itself pretty nicely. Plot may be not something to write home about (actually, at times it might be considered a complete dud), but this one is all about great art direction and good old classic turn-based RPG. Graphics are really nice, but where it really shines are the amazing cutscenes and that’s actually the meat of the game. As for gameplay itself, there is not much to say, because it doesn’t try to do anything new, but you don’t try to fix something that isn’t broken and sometimes it is good to do something safe but working, then risk and make the game itself a chore. Boss battles are really intense, though, although shame backgrounds are pretty meh. Overall pretty solid game and I hope we will see more, although with better writing and maybe bigger budget, so there could be more variety in environments. If I would have to score it, I would give it 7.5/10. If you have nothing to play, then you won’t regret this one, but if you have major backlog, you’re better off waiting for a sale.

Fortnite’s Battle Royale Mode Adds Duo And Supply Drops

Fortnite has added more content to its Battle Royale mode. Along with various fixes, it has added Duo mode, allowing two players to team up together in the 100-player mode. According to the developer Epic Games, supply drops are back. These are random crates that drop from the sky and land on the map and contain strong weaponry and items.
